Friday is FREE Kids Day! 'Hardwick Hall, more glass than wall' was built in the 16th century as a residence for Bess of Hardwick, Countess of Shrewsbury and is a hugely popular National Trust venue.
It has exceptionally large windows, especially for a time when glass was a luxury, which was a statement of Bess' wealth and power. The Great British Food Festival at Hardwick has been on the lawns, with views of the incredible building, for a number of years and is hugely popular amongst locals.
