Ready to show off your baking skills?

You can enter with a cake, cupcakes, or brownies. If you choose cupcakes or brownies, please bring at least 8 pieces so our judges have plenty to taste and decide their favourites!

DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE CAKE

Calling all chocolate lovers! Create a rich and delicious chocolate cake that stands out from the crowd. Whether it's gooey, layered, decorated, or filled with surprises, show us your most irresistible chocolate creation.

VICTORIA SPONGE

A true British classic! Bake the ultimate Victoria sponge – light, fluffy, and filled to perfection. Can you create the Victoria sponge that Britain will remember?

THE RULES

Not only will we give you FREE entry to the event, there'll be a fab prize for all of our Cake-Off Winners!

50% of the score is obtained from our judging panel who will rate the entries on their presentation and taste. The other 50% of the votes will be scored by the general public. At each Festival we pick members of the crowd to come and sample what is on offer, then they will hand in their scores. Once all scores have been tallied, our independent adjudicator will announce the winner.

And the best is yet to come! Once the judging is over all cake entries are open for anyone to sample, so make sure you are down at the Festival and grab a seat to taste test some of our fantastic cakes!

So, now you know the rules, get the apron on, the flour in the bowl and start baking!

FAQs

Does everything need to be made from scratch?

No, that's up to you. The cake cannot be shop bought however!

Can I leave my cake while I explore the event?

Yes, it's best if you take it straight to the Challenge Stage then we can get you booked in.

Would I need to go up on stage?

No. You are welcome to present your cake as you wish on the stage or leave it to our team to do so.

Can I have my box back after?

Sure, just let us know before we clean up.

Can children enter?

Yes with pleasure, but please note that in the interests of fairness, all cakes will be judged anonymously and on an even-footing, with no special account being taken of age.
