12:30pm – Men v Food (Meat)… the big sausage eating contest!
1pm – Cheese Off Taste & Vote!
1:30pm – Cake Off... Taste & judge cakes
2:30pm – Men v Food (Heat)… hot, hot, hotter! Chilli eating challenge.
3.30pm – Men v Food (Pairs v Treat)... Teams of two take on our dessert-based challenge

Over 800 cakes have been cut, tasted and deliberated... but only one can be crowned winner! It's a GBFF institution and the competition is fierce... don’t forget all cake off entrants get in free to the festival! This means you DO NOT NEED TO BUY A TICKET.
Cake-off judging with a baking star is at 1.30pm on the Challenge Stage everyday.

Guided walks are around the festival site in a small group. They last around 45 minutes to 1hr and start at 10am, 11.15am, 12.30, 2pm and 3.15pm. It’s no problem for walks to be pushchair or wheelchair friendly.

Bryan Paterson formed Wildlife Displays in 1978 offering Falconry and Birds of Prey displays and has a real passion and knowledge for animals / birds to which he brings to his audiences. His collection consists of: snakes, spiders, insects, meerkats, kune kune pigs, pygmy goats, rabbits, guinea pigs etc and at the event you will have the opportunity to come up and touch the animals, giving you a hands on experience!!! *Please be aware the mini zoo WILL NOT be at all our events in 2023. Demonstrating authentic cooking and providing an insight into a variety of everyday medieval skills such as wool dyeing, cloth weaving and tapestry, leather working, ‘bodging’, brewing, rope making and the use of natural medicines.

Also available to explain the weapons, fighting techniques and how each of the weapons can be used. Where permitted we have live action combat and most importantly allowing the children of our audiences to participate in the ‘Kiddie Vike’ and inter-action with the warriors in simulated battles!
