Chris is currently Manager and Head Chef at Cool River Café in Matlock, Derbyshire.
Cool River Café fills the gap between your standard coffee shop and restaurant.
Chris has 14 years of catering experience, working in a range of hotels and restaurants up to a two-‐rosette level. Chris also spent six months in Italy, where he was making fresh pasta every day. He has taken all of his experience and put it into the heart of Cool River Café.
Chris and his team work in an open kitchen and are dedicated to delivering high quality patisserie; alongside a breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea menu. Chris is very passionate about using local produce; sourcing meat from a local butcher, eggs and milk from a local dairy farm and even the coffee is sourced from a small, local roastary. Along side the busy daytime service, Cool River Café offers private hire and host different events throughout the year such as author talks and book signings.
Not forgetting the occasional and very popular bistro dinner evenings.
