My name is Caroline and I’ve been working as a chef for the past 14 years approximately. Originally, I’m from Ballymena, Northern Ireland and I came here to study to be a web designer in 2001. I always worked through my student days and found myself back in hospitality cheffing at the age of 30 after being unemployed for a stint. Most of my background is in pub food and I have a special interest in Vegan and Gluten free cookery.
I have run my own small sandwich business in the past, delivering sandwiches and snacks to pubs in the stoke area.
I recently found out that I might have ADHD along with other learning difficulties which has really opened my eyes to how people with neuro diversity fit in to the hospitality trade in general.
I have many other strings to my bow such as artist and vocalist. And have exhibited my work recently in a local exhibition called Stranger Skies as well as having performed my first gig with my band The British premonitions Bureau.
I am trying to set up something on my own again since I find it alot easier and rewarding to work for myself because of some issues I have with communication and working in a commercial environment. I don’t have much online presence as I’ve been busy trying to sort out the physical side of a business which I have called The Nook.
