Parveen Ashraf is cookery teacher, author and columnist who is passionate about her style of cooking. She recently fronted a 10 part cookery show for ITV titled ‘Parveen’s Indian Kitchen’. The show takes viewers on a journey of discovery about authentic Indian cooking, delving into regional recipes both in the UK and in the bustling flavour-packed streets of India. Parveen’s down-to-earth teaching methods on the show, allows the viewer to recreate her dishes with ease in the comfort of their own home.
Prior to anchoring her own show, Parveen showcased her cooking skills on various shopping channels where she cooked multiple dishes live on air whilst using talkback. Parveen has over a decade of experience as a private chef and Indian cookery teacher in and around the UK and Europe. Her private lessons are fun, informative and wonderfully vibrant celebrating the best of her culture as well as her cuisine.
Parveen is a firm believer that with the right method and the right spices, anyone can make her simple step by step recipes. In her first cook book entitled ‘Parveen The Spice Queen’ she shares her favourite family recipes as well as stories of her life through food. Each recipe has a humorous and heart-warming anecdote as an introduction along with lots of hints and tips of how to cook authentic Indian food.
